Classic Ballet

As part of my quest to become a competent figurative artist, I decided to test myself by studying the world of dance. I have worked with some wonderful dance models over the years doing various styles. Northern Ballet members have modelled for me and a couple of dancers from the Moulin Rouge including a dance captain.
The challenge of drawing dance is to get the feeling of movement poise and technical precision. It is important to me as an artist and to the dancers from their professional point of view. I don't want to make them look bad! So it is vital that the dancers are consulted throughout the creative process, as they are the experts in dance not me.

Classic Ballet by my artistic definition is ballet in the traditional shoes and tutu. I have other ballets works, in my Dance Sketch and Contemporary Ballet pages.
